A Free Preservation Class Presented by Raven Ridge Homestead
Location: Felton Library, Community Room
Date & Time: July 18th, 3:30–5:30 PM
Cost: Free
Join us for an introduction to dehydrating foods at home, covering the full process from fresh produce to shelf-stable ingredients, using seasonal fruits and vegetables as teaching examples.
Designed for adults curious about food dehydration but unsure where to begin, as well as home cooks who have experimented before and want a clearer understanding of the fundamentals, the class focuses on building a confident foundation. Topics include basic equipment options, preparation methods, safe drying practices, and how to determine when foods are properly dried and ready for storage.
The session is demonstration and discussion based, connecting practical preservation skills to everyday meals and pantry use. The class includes a seasonal drying guide and concludes with examples of thoughtfully prepared dried foods for inspiration and reference.
This is Class 2 of a three-part Food Preservation Series. Attendees are welcome to join any or all sessions.
