Join us for an introduction to pressure canning, covering the full process from prepared ingredients to safely sealed jars, using low-acid foods as teaching examples.

Designed for adults curious about pressure canning but unsure where to start, as well as home cooks who have some experience and want a clearer understanding of safety and procedure, the class focuses on building a confident foundation. Topics include equipment components, how pressure canners function, altitude considerations, tested recipes, and the correct order of operations from preparation through processing and cooling.

The session is demonstration and discussion based, connecting practical preservation skills to everyday meals and long-term pantry planning. The class includes a seasonal preservation guide and concludes with examples of properly canned goods for inspiration and reference.

This is Class 3 of a free three-part Food Preservation Series. Attendees are welcome to join any or all sessions.
